Frequently Asked Questions
-
Is zip lining safe?Although we do our best to prevent and mitigate as many foreseeable risks as possible, as with all aerial adventure activities, zip lining carries certain inherent risks. Along with our course being designed and built to meet or exceed leading industry standards, we provide guests with professionally trained guides as well as the highest quality equipment available. Our course and associated equipment are inspected daily.
-
What should I bring? While secure storage options are located in our main office, we ask that you bring minimal belongings to the activity. We are not responsible for articles lost during participation. That said, we do recommend being prepared with sunscreen, ChapStick, sunglasses, water, etc.
-
Where do I park? Please park at the landing tower by the butterfly pond. You will check in and gear up at the office by the big butterfly on the building, then walk up to the launch tower, zipline down, then de-gear.
-
Is there a dress code?Wear footwear and clothing required for the activity: No flip flops of crocs: shoes must be securely attached to feet (we don’t want your shoes falling off while riding the zip line)! Since we operate rain or shine, please prepare for this by wearing non-cotton clothing (keeps you warmer and dries quickly). Please dress in layers since the weather changes quickly. Short shorts are not recommended as we want you to be as comfortable as possible in the harness! We recommend long hair being tied back in a ponytail, braid, or other similar hairdo of your choice.
-
Do you operate rain or shine?Although zip lining can be fun year-round, we are required to shut down the activity under certain weather conditions. Lightning, high winds, and extreme temperatures will prohibit us from using the zip line. Follow us on Social Media for up-to-date information.
-
Do I need to sign a waiver? We do require that you sign a Participant Agreement. A parent or legal guardian must sign for any minor children. Please fill out your agreement online before your trip!
-
What time should I arrive? Please arrive 10-15 minutes earlyto ensure that you have plenty of time to check in, secure your belongings, and use the restrooms before your experience begins. Your zip line adventure will begin promptly at the scheduled reservation time.
-
Can I bring a camera or phone? While phones and cameras are not allowed while actively zip lining, phone and cameras may come along for the ride as long as they are securely attached to you so that you can have both of your hands free for zipping. Please keep in mind that you will be zipping over the Colorado River, River Trail, and Butterfly Pond, so be sure anything valuable is able to be securely attached or stored in a pocket. Remember, anything you bring with you on the zip line has the potential to fall and get lost and/or broken, so please do so at your own risk.
-
Is there much walking or hiking? There is minimal walking. We now have a 8-person golf cart that will transport you to the zipline launch. The ride is about 3-4 minutes long.
-
Can I participate if I'm pregnant?Unfortunately, our harnesses are only built to fit one person at a time. Because the harness createsadditional pressure on the abdominal area, zipping during pregnancy is a safety hazard and is not worth the risk. If you are pregnant, regardless of how far along you may be, we cannot send you down the zip line.
-
Can I participate if I have health problems?Well, it depends. Due to the nature of zip lining, people with heart, breathing, seizure, or mobility issues may be at a greater risk for complications or injury from participating. Zip lining may provoke certain bodily responses caused by fear or adrenaline that can exacerbate or worsen some medical conditions. If you have had any recent injury, illness, surgery, heart attack, stroke, seizure, or if you have any condition that will be triggered or worsened by the tasks required for zip lining, we ask that you speak to your doctor before participating. Our staff will always keep your safety as their top priority, even if it means asking you to stay on the ground.
-
What equipment will I wear on the tour? You will be fitted with a full body harness, helmet, lanyard with safety carabiners, and trolley system. The equipment is somewhatsimilar to rock climbing equipment, but specifically designed for zip lining.
-
What kind of training do the guides have? Our guides take part in an extensive training and certification program led by industry professionalsaccredited by the Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT). This training process covers general understanding and conceptual zip line knowledge as well as guiding techniques, safety practices, and rescue procedures.Furthermore, our guides practice and execute these skills on a regular basis. Many of them are also basic first aid and CPR certified!
-
How do I get on the course? To get on the launch tower you will need to be able to climb up an enclosed steep ladder.
-
Is there an age/ weight limit?Due to multiple factors such as course and equipment design, potential speeds, braking system requirements, and guide safety, you must weigh between 50lbs and 250lbs to ride the zip line. Anyone under or over that weight range will be asked to stay on the ground. Our minimum agefor participation is 8 years old, however, you must meet all of the participant requirements in order to ride. For example, if you are 8 years old but only weigh 45lbs, unfortunately, we cannot take you on the zip line.

If someone in your party does chicken out (or feels like the activity is just not the right fit), they will not be forced to go, however, tickets are non-refundable.
-
How do I get off the landing tower?Rappelling is the quickest and simplest way to get off the landing tower. Our guides will clip you into an automatic belay device where you will be instructed to step off the platform and allow the device to lower you to the ground in a slow and controlled fashion. Stepping off the platform is just like stepping into the side of a pool, but this time, without the splash! If you are unable to step off the platform, a guide will lower you to the ground.
